FAQ

What are permanent cosmetics?
Permanent cosmetics are a type of cosmetic tattooing that use pharmaceutical grade pigments which are applied to the second layer of your skin. This results in a wonderful shadow of colour that looks like perfectly applied makeup. The procedure is completely sterile and the highest standards of hygiene are maintained at all times.

What are the benefits?
Precision permanent cosmetics not only mean you save valuable time, they also enhance your natural features. Every client is treated individually to receive cosmetics that are tailored to their needs. No more smudging after swimming or after working out at the gym, you can wake up every morning looking fresh- faced.

Permanent make-up is for anybody of any age that wish to look their best around the clock.

How long does it last?
Permanent cosmetics sit somewhere in between semi- permanent and permanent; over the years the colour will fade, but don’t worry you can simply have a top up every 12-18 months to keep your make-up looking as good as new.

Does it hurt?
It’s no more painful than having your eyebrows tweezed. And I will use sophisticated equipment that will assist in eliminating any stress.

Will I have an allergic reaction?
A skin patch test is required pre- procedure, although allergic reactions are extremely rare.

What happens during the procedure?
A topical anaesthetic is applied to the area and left to numb whilst I will evaluate the most suitable pigments for you, taking into consideration your skin tone and personality. The anaesthetic is then removed and I will get to work creating your desired shape using a conventional make-up pencil. Once the shape, design and colour have all been agreed upon and photographed, I carefully implant the pigment into the skin. Depending upon the size of the area, the procedure itself will take about an hour and a half, and a complimentary retouch procedure is usually required 4-6 weeks after the initial treatment .

What is the recovery time?
Normal activities can be resumed immediately, there may be some swelling and redness but this generally subsides within 24 to 48 hours. As the skin heals, the treated area will form a protective crust over the forthcoming days and the final healed result of the treatment will be about 30-40% lighter than the immediate result. A minimum of 4-6 weeks rest between treatments is required to ensure the skin is fully healed, both on the surface and below.
