Love your lips

Basic lip line enhancement

....A great way to bring subtle contour and definition to your lips

My client, before:

Immediately after:

4 weeks later, healed result:

(with a sneaky addition of a beauty spot)

I mixed a pigment blend in a cool pink tone to match the client's natural lip colour. The immediate result is about 40% darker, as with all permanent makeup procedures, and this lightens within about 7 days of healing.

This client was so thrilled with the healed result, she opted for a beauty spot to make the most of a small freckle, and also received 3D hair simulation eyebrow enhancement, shown below.

Before:

Immediately after:

She had brilliant eyebrow structure and hair density to begin with, but wanted additional length at the tail ends, and natural looking definition with hairstrokes that weren't too tightly compact within the brow. I really enjoyed this treatment, and I hear the colour has since healed perfectly :)

pretty eyes

These photographs were taken immediately before and after treatment, there is slight swelling

eyeliner enhancement:

This client already had big beautiful feline eyes

very Diana Ross... just stunning.

She wanted a very natural "pretty eye" look, nothing too heavy or obvious.

After a thorough consultation, we soon realised she actually wanted a step up from the natural "eyelash enhancement" requested, because the client wanted to acheive more of a lift with the implanted shape. Therefore she opted for a full eyeliner enhancement for a slightly stronger look, that can be built upon in her inclusive retouch if desired.

Note that I did not take the pigment through the bottom lashes, because this would have pulled her natural doe eye shape downwards, and would not have made the most of her lovely eyes.

This client is very happy with the results thus far, and she is now considering booking an eyebrow enhancement for the new year.

another happy client :)

Here is a testimonial I received via email today:

"I had undergone semi permanent make-up to my eyebrows on two occasions and the outcomes were far from satisfactory, I really was becoming very sceptical that I would ever encounter someone who could achieve a good result! Then I came across Rachel! With her artistic/creative background and attention to detail I have been delighted with her work and now wouldn't even consider anyone else carrying out the procedure. Many SPMU artists may charge a little less but as the saying goes "you get what you pay for" and after two expensive mistakes I have at last found someone I can trust!"

thankyou for being a super client.

marilyn.

During my latest visit to the midlands, I decided to dust off my pencils and partake in some sketching. Frankly... I am more than rusty! So please excuse any lack of "Likeness" to Miss Monroe. I decided to draw her because her beautiful face is familiar to EVERYBODY... And any flaws in my drawing would be apparent to all, especially to myself.

But, I must practise what I preach; any good permanent makeup practitioner must have drawing ability to some degree. A good artist will be their own worst critique. And since I now also wish to pursue a career in traditional tattoos, PLENTY more drawing is to come...

The Battle of the Blonde

Over the years I have found that one of my biggest battles as a permanent make-up practitioner is:

The battle of the blonde!

Many of my clients looking for semi permanent eyebrows are blond haired, and therefore will be suited to receiving beautiful blonde eyebrows. Despite this, most of the ladies I talk to still presume this is not an option, and that I can only offer them brown coloured brows, or worse, tattoo ink black eyebrows.

Here is a small colour chart I now keep within my salons to demonstrate to my clients the scope of colour available, from baby blonde to Cleopatra black

Each colour has a different undertone, here's a quick guide:
(please click to enlarge)

Blonde pigments rest so lightly in the skin that they don't last as long as darker colours, with the absolute lightest blonde shade only lasting 9 months!

...Still sceptical?

Here's an example of a client I treated. She had permanent make-up applied to her brows several years ago. Due to a poorly educated practitioner placing a red based brown pigment into her warm skin tone... the faded result was an unflattering shade of pale orange. This is very common amongst clients who received treatment 5+ years ago, and at a lower than average cost. I implanted a yellow/ green base blonde pigment to counteract the orange tone.

Upon redesigning this client's brows, I had to consider:

1. Working over a poorly implanted shape and colour, and the limitations involved with this.
2. Lack of hair growth.
3. The lightness of the clients hair - combined with the need to use a tone dark enough to conceal the old orange pigment.

But, all of the above are by no means out of the ordinary, and with a skilled practitioner, almost all unsatisfactory work can be improved.

BEFORE

AFTER

Please note:

This photo is the immediate result and the pigment will heal about 30% lighter.

Due to the titanium in blonde pigments and how it sits within the skin, a defined, strong hair-stroke effect is not possible. However, extraordinary improvement can be achieved with successfully implanted pigment, and a well structured shape.

This is understandably something to be cautious about - after all, these brows are going to be framing your face for a while. But rest assured you bloomin' blondes - I have a pigment that's perfect for you.

If Andy Warhol could screen print make-up...

Diane von Furstenberg at London Fashion Week

For her Spring/Summer 2011 collection: Show stopping lips inspired by Andy Warhol silk screen prints. What was her inspiration? Her very own Warhol portrait created in the 70s of course.

If lips are your look, permanent cosmetics can give you the contour, volume and colour to introduce long lasting youth and vitality to your features.

The time saving benefits of permanent makeup

Very often the benefit of saving time in applying makeup each morning is overlooked by those who fit it into their daily regime without a second thought. So many of my clients are perfectionists themselves, which is why they come to Precision Permanent Cosmetics.

Ladies can waste accumulated hours of time drawing in the perfect eyebrow shape, the perfect eyeliner flick, or the perfect lip line.. it can understandably become tedious and very time consuming! with semi permanent make-up, you can wake up ready to go, a brush of foundation and a flick of mascara and your out the door.

Say goodbye to those stressful last minute makeup panics, when your eyeliner flicks are pointing in different directions, and your left eyebrow just isn’t looking right. Not to mention that having a permanent lip blush/ contour will enable your lips to look picture perfect and voluptuous all day long.

Be picture perfect all day long, check out the testimonials on my website http://www.precisionbeauty.co.uk/

Beautician vs Artist.

Many semi permanent makeup technicians will have derived from the beauty industry. This is where I am a giant step ahead of every SPMU practitioner in the UK: Having painted and drawn all of my life, I achieved grade A at both GCSE Art and Textiles. Following this I studied Fine Art at BTEC level, and after accomplishing across the board Distinctions here, I followed my passion for art through to university where I successfully gained a 2:1 Ba Hons in Fine Art.

Fine Art is a varied subject, with contemporary art consisting of a broad range of practices in an eclectic variation of mediums. The question of what is art? is more appropriate than ever before. But I have always been a traditionalist. Painting and drawing have been a constant part of my practice, and developing the mentality of an “artist” is invaluable. I will thoroughly look and take the time to assess my client’s features, just as I would any canvas. My hand to eye coordination is a gift that I often taken for granted and I have a natural understanding of colour theory, enabling my clients to receive the right tone and shade of pigment for their skin. I also have an innate desire to constantly asses, analyse and scrutinise my own work, I am my own worst critic! But this is what makes me a trust worthy and successful practitioner.

Fine Art is an intense practice, I have spent countless hours studying the human form, perfecting proportion and scale, dissecting the multi faceted nature of skin tone, observing life models and ultimately challenging paint to represent flesh.

Permanent cosmetics are an exquisite and precise art form, who could you trust more to enhance your features than an experienced, technically skilled and educated artist?
